Is Your Power Bill Confusing? It’s on Purpose. Here’s Why…

understanding high electricity billsToday, one of our major concerns is to save money and energy. With energy bills sky high and rates constantly increasing too, it is no surprise you are sick of it. We are too. When you receive your power bill, do you REALLY analyze or EVEN understand what is listed on your bill, or do you just pay it and grumble? Well, that isn't a coincidence.  Your power company has spent hundreds of millions of dollars making their power grid more energy efficient so they can increase their bottom line.  But, guess what?  They aren't installing any of that equipment on your home so you can be billed for what you actually use.  The fox is in the henhouse on this one folks.  Isn't is time you told your power company, enough is enough?!? They know the majority of us aren't going to go fully off grid.  In fact, there are laws against living off grid in my state right now!  So what is someone supposed to do when the stakes are against us?  Below are some helpful things you can do to lower your power bills and reduce your energy consumption right now.  Because the only way to beat them is to outsmart them at their own game.

  • Invest in energy efficient appliances
Buy appliances that suit your needs. Keeping a check on the energy consumption for each device will help to reduce utilization of energy and the standby power consumption as well. Look carefully for the energy saving features and the energy stickers on them. Selecting appliances that are appropriate for the purpose you have in mind will give you great savings on your energy bill. For example, adequately to cool a room of 10' x 10', you need only a 0.75 ton or maximum 1-ton air conditioner. If you buy a 2-ton air conditioner for the same room, that would be wasteful and definitely overkill. You would be consuming double the power for no reason at all. Such matters require your consideration before purchase. Speaking of appliances, make them as energy efficient as possible by purchasing and Electric Saver 1200. This device can help make the motor driven appliances in your home more energy efficient requiring you to consume less from your power provider.  And it lasts for 20 years so you are putting thousands in your pocket from this investment.

  • Microwave
For purposes of heating small quantities of food, microwaves use less energy than the other conventional OTG ovens and the normal gas stoves. The electric waves of the microwave oven consume less energy because it heats only the food particles and nothing else; the process of heating up food is much faster than any other medium and consequently an 80% saving in consumption of electricity is a normal estimate. It generates very little excess heat in the cooking area and results in the lesser usage of air conditioning.
  • Power Strips
Certain electronic devices consume a small portion of energy even when you switch them off and leave them in standby mode. Our television and computer systems are apt examples. Though they consume very little energy, cumulatively, they contribute their mite towards the electricity bill generated monthly. The power switch is an aid to this issue. By just flicking a switch, you could stop the flow of energy completely. New versions of these power strip switches cater to almost every electrical/electronic appliance.
  • Programmable Thermostat
programmable thermostatThermostats with a programmable feature are ideal for you to regulate the extent of energy needed by your air conditioners or heaters during your absence from your home or office. You could conveniently program your thermostat to provide the right temperature that would utilize optimum power. This feature makes it comfortable for yourself to get in to your home after a long holiday and not feel stuffy as it maintains the right duly programmed temperature. The feature gives you the advantage of lower power consumption in your absence and the right temperature to keep you comfortable, when you return.
  • Battery Charger
In the end, rechargeable Alkaline Batteries are more economical than the use and throw ones, which contribute to the toxic waste. In the final analysis, the manufacturer consumes lesser power and the issue of toxic landfill is controlled. Use new and efficient battery chargers that will not tax your power consumption.  For even more ways to lower power bills, visit our complete electricity saving guide here! energy efficiency habits We hope you enjoyed our post as much as we loved having you here. • Set your power settings in your computer when they are still not in use. An hour of inactivity should automatically turn the computer off. You can do the configuration through the energy management system of the computer.

  • Enable hibernate mode feature if computer inactivity reaches 15 minutes or more. It saves you energy and time compared to shutting the computer down completely. It would keep the opened tabs intact even when the system is hibernating.

  • Take advantage of the sunlight. Instead of letting your heater work endlessly, open the windows and let the light and warm air in. At night, close the windows and their shades or blinds to retain the heat within the house.

  • During the summer, give your A/C system a break by making sure the windows, shades or blinds are closed. This would seal off the cool air from going out and the warm air from coming in.

  • Let your water heater run at 120 to 130 degrees. This would stop you from using more electricity to heat the water for your dishwasher or to heat more water once you run out of hot water.

  • Always turn off the lights in empty, unused rooms.
  • Make full use of the daylight.

  • Set the freezer in 0 to 5 degrees Fahrenheit and the refrigerator temperature in 38 to 42 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure the door is closed tightly.

  • Dry your laundry in the clothesline instead of fully depending on the dryer.

  • Avoid preheating the oven or constantly peeking in to check the food.

  • Use cold water for washing and rinsing the clothes.
If you practice these things at home, you will see a reduction in your energy consumption. Want to Start Saving Money and Electricity the Easy Way? Did Obama Affect The Energy Sector in a Good Way? You Decide…

Brought to you by: Electric Saver 1200 President Obama proposed a national energy-saving plan years ago but the effects are still being felt in the energy sector. By compelling utilities to harness other diverse energy sources, including the solar and wind power, hydroelectric, nuclear and the like, it could have a contradictory effect long term. This has led to an increase in our electricity rates NOT a decrease or improvement as we would have hoped. High Electricity Fortunately, these diverse energy sources do not give off emission of greenhouse gases, and pollute the world. There is that chance that by motivating people with incentives to cut their electricity consumption, that costs/usage can decrease too. The Obama administration created a unique energy initiative that focused on clean energy values that, by the year 2035, would assure the country of an 80% dependence on other clean and renewable sources of energy. Some of these methods would mean harnessing the power from the sun and the wind, besides using natural gas, nuclear power plants and even using the coal plants by fortifying the means of trapping and storing the emissions of carbon dioxide, by some innovative method. Interestingly, these clean sources now supply up to 40% of the US energy requirements. nuclear plant leaked Many experts strongly feel that the cap-and-trade system brought along with this initiative is more acceptable because they see more leeway for decreasing their emissions and thereby allowing them to opt for cost-effective methods to reach their goal. Some experts opine that, in this clean-energy scheme, it is possible to design new criteria to meet the flexibility standards of a cap-and-trade system. The Obama's administration listed the guiding principles about environment and energy. It talks about new clean energy creation, employment and technologies, leading to better independent energy-efficiency in the US, and making the world a far safer place to live in, with far lesser carbon emissions. Recycling a way to protect our planet The White House website, on the 40th anniversary of the Earth Day, mentioned the proposals that the management had undertaken:

  • A SGIG (Smart Grid Investment Grant) of $3.4 billion, announced (as a part of the ARR Act of 2009 (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act), focused on 49 states and planned to cut power usage by 4% before the year 2030.

  • Latest efficiency rules for home equipment.

  • The ARPA-E or Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy plan under the Energy and the Defense Departments formed the DARPA or Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

  • A recent National Fuel Efficiency plan, relevant to 2012-2016 car models, will oblige carmakers, to make fuel efficiency of 35.5 mpg, a reality.

  • A new "Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gases Rule," initiated by the Environmental Protection Agency, now makes it mandatory for major emitters of carbon dioxide in the US, to report the quantum of their emissions.

  • A new statement on ways to help the federal government advocate a "home energy efficiency" retrofit industry “that is self-sustaining."

  • A three-pronged plan ensured the increased production of bio-fuels: a standard for restorable fuels, a program for biomass crop-support, and bio-fuels working team. President Obama initiated an inter-agency job force to help introduce a federal plan to capture and store carbon.
The American recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 was the cornerstone of most of Obama's administrative initiatives, which allocated the bulk funding for purposes of clean energy. The Obama administration stated on their website that they claimed over $80 billion received towards clear energy investments. Whether you loved Obama or hated him, it goes without saying that he changed the energy sector and his initiatives are still being felt all across the nation. Do you think his initiatives helped our country or hurt it? And now that Donald Trump is president, what changes do you expect to come in the USA Energy sector in the near future? Reactive Power & Energy Efficiency? How Does 1 Affect the Other?

Reactive Power & Energy Efficiency. Why is Reactive Power Important for Energy Efficiency?

(definition) KVAR

Kilovolt-Ampere Reactive

Reactive Power (kVArh) is the difference between working power (active power measured in kW) and total power consumed (apparent power measured in kVA). Some electrical equipment requires an amount of 'reactive power' in addition to 'active power' in order to work more energy efficiently. KVAR is the number at the top of the mathematical problem. The higher the power factor your property has to the number 1, the more efficient the home is. For example, if your business has a .67 power factor rating, you are likely paying more than you have to for energy. But what about home owners? Are they billed for this too? The answer may surprise you. Electricity power bills are constantly rising on a day to day basis thus denting our pockets and wallets in these harsh economic times. Electrical energy has been one of the greatest discoveries of the century and life without electric power in unimaginable. From the use of the vacuum cleaner to clean the house in a matter of minutes to a spick and span standard to the washing machine that washes clothes at the touch of a button. Then there's that lovely dish washer that comes in handy after a heavy delicious meal. The list goes on and on. These are among the many electrical appliances that make our day to day living more comfortable. The sad bit of the above scenario is that they are all powered by electricity. Hence, the good life comes at a cost which continues to impede our comfortable lifestyle. The appliances normally run on 110 volts in the United States or 220-250 volts in other parts of the world. This AC (Alternating Current) Power source flows in a Sine wave to create both magnetic power as well as power itself. When not in use it loses some energy in form of reactive power measured in KVAR (Kilo Volt Ampere Reactive). The KVAR is the power factor that measures how efficient and effective an appliance or gadget is. The higher the power factor number measured in KVAR the more efficient and the lower the power factor (KVAR) the less effectiveness and efficiency. These power losses can be controlled and improved by adding power saving gadgets such as the Electric Saver 1200. The biggest culprits of this power reactive loss are the inductive power users i.e. Central Air Conditioning Systems, Heat Pumps, Swimming Pool motors, Refrigeration, fluorescent lighting, as well as motor in heavy machinery like Elevators, Escalators, and power tools.

And there are those reports of Power Factor not making a difference on residential homes at all. Are they true or false?

While it is true that homeowners are not billed power factor penalties or for apparent power, homeowners ARE billed for inefficient appliances and a/c systems that are still in use. Your power company has no way of knowing whether that refrigerator in your beautiful kitchen is from 1972 or 2017. The only way you are billed for your appliances and energy is by your USAGE. energy waste If your appliances and air conditioning system are not running as efficiently as possible, you might as well go out to your back yard and light a couple hundred dollar bills on fire every few months. Because that's what you are giving to your power company by not taking action and making your home or business as energy efficient as possible. If you are ready to just say no to burning $100 bills every few months, click the link below:   Buy KVAR Now Why Else Should I Use A KVAR device?
  • Safeguarding and regulating power surges and spikes during black outs and brown outs. This cost cutting measure protects electrical equipment from getting damaged, deters any fire calamity that might destroy your property or even the loss of life.
  • Efficiency and effectiveness of electrical appliances is improved by less overheating and running cooler, this ensures that they will last longer and give optimal service.
  • Reduced Kilowatt Consumption on the Overall Property, thus saving you from overbilling from energy you weren't able to use.
  • Power Factor Penalty Removed from Energy Bills (for those commercial customers that are billed a penalty)

Why is improving the overall power factor on my property a good idea?

Because now your property is ONLY billed for energy it actually uses and not 1 penny more to the power company! To find out more visit our website today!

Once upon a time, there was a funny looking President…

energy-shock Once upon a time, there was this President who had a big hot temper, a smokin' hot wife, a weird hairdo, was a reality TV star, and the media reported him to be stupid, angry, & only care about business and money.  No one thought he would be taken seriously, let alone win the presidency.  But he did.  He made all these promises to the American people that he would make some huge changes.  Once he took office, he told the United Nations that he wouldn't be participating in their cool "save the environment" programs anymore and everyone said, "OH MY GOSH!  What did he just do?  He is going to destroy our planet."  Then he changed the tax laws & some other things and everyone said, "WHAT THE *!&% DID HE DO?  He is going to ruin everything."  But then nothing happened.  The sky didn't fall and the seas didn't boil.  In fact, the economy started getting better.  So more and more people started waking up & wondering, "what kind of crap has the media been telling us that really isn't true?  What if President Trump is telling the truth about the media being completely full of horse----!  What is their agenda if they have been telling us nonsense all along? " Maybe they wanted to bring America down.  Maybe they wanted to feed the American public at large so much confusing information that there would be no way to know what's up or down, let alone improve things.  Or maybe, just maybe, it takes every one of us to come together as a nation to really bring change to our communities. Schools banded together to create safe havens for youth to grow up strong, smart, & be the future America needs.   Coaches help make a difference in each child's life by teaching him/her to be stronger, faster & able to handle the pressure when real situations come.  Churches banded together to help those in need get help & bring peace and love to it's community.  Community Leaders banded with it's citizens to get the truth about drugs out.  Police banded together to get the criminals off the street and rehabilitated with improved ethics & real skills so they have a real future without crime or drugs. Families banded with one another to make their neighborhoods safer, cleaner, & more energy efficient.  And the world became a better place to live for all of us.  Because not even the President of the United States of America can do everything all by himself.  It takes each and every one of us doing our part to make our community what WE want it to be. The End.  So the moral of this story is, it takes all of us to bring change to our community, not just 1 man. change your environment by being the change

That change starts with you, your family, your community.

“Save power and save your planet," would be an ideal way to describe the precarious situation we are facing today. While the president can do many things in office, this is not up to him. This problem is bigger than just 1 world leader. We all live on the same planet, we all are just trying to live our lives in peace and harmony. It is up to us to do our part in saving our planet. It doesn't matter what your political beliefs are, being more responsible and taking care of where you live is just the right thing to do. It is certainly a balancing act between using cheap fossil fuels or newer green technologies for our world leaders (and appeasing their constituents). But we, as individuals, can take action to help our family and our planet live better by doing simple things. Read on for some helpful ideas on how you can lower energy bills and improve your way of life. saving-energy-easy

LIGHTING Accounts for 10% of your Power Bills...

Use CFL or LED: Incandescent bulbs are power-hungry, and guzzle several times the power-consumed by CFL or LED bulbs, which offer you the dual advantage of a much longer life and lower replacement costs. Count the stars: All electrical appliances bear an efficiency rating represented by up to five stars, where the highest number of stars indicates better efficiency. When proposing to buy such appliances, exercise much care before deciding on the best option between similar functionality. Remember that you stand to gain from the efficient appliance, which consumes almost 20% less power than its counterpart, a thought after your own heart. Look for “energy star” designation, approved by the Environmental Protection Agency, when you propose to replace your appliances. led light- ways to save energy Let your computer play its part: The DRT monitor of a desktop consumes about 180-200 watts of power, where, its LCD counterpart will consume about 35 watts only, and a laptop consumes probably 10-20% of that. Again, a LCD screen for a laptop is the best choice. Some feel that, enabling the power management function and going to a screen saver mode, will save energy. If your computer has an advanced "speed step"" power management feature, you can affect savings. Switch off your computer when not in use, and extend its longevity. Keep printer use to the least, and remember that ink-jet printers consume lesser electricity than their laser counterparts do. Try to get a computer with a power-save mode fan, and activate your keyboard shortcut that will send your monitor to a sleep mode, until you ask windows to re-activate it, when you need it.

HEATING & COOLING ACCOUNTS FOR 50% of your Power Bill...

Air conditioner: Your air-conditioner draws about 1500 W, and drains power and your pocket. There are two ways you could buy yourself some relief from this, and at the same time, offer your contribution towards saving the planet. You could set your A/C on a timer, to work until about 3 AM and then go automatically into a sleep mode. Additionally, you can set the thermostat at 25C, to enjoy the advantages of a good sleep, as well as the economy on its operating cost. This simple adjustment should save carbon dioxide emission of about 1000 kg, which will add to the woes of the planet and its people. Programmable thermostats in your air-conditioners will help save power by adjusting the temperature at your house or workplace. Electronic Devices: Electronic devices contribute to heavy power drawing. Switching them off when not in use, will save an enormous quantum of otherwise wasted power, and cut your energy bills. Microwave: Warming the food, using a microwave oven could considerably cut the power required to heat your foods vs a traditional oven. Renewable Energy: Harnessing the sun’s energy to heat water by a solar water heater will save you loads of power. Think of a solar cooker that can cook food for you without losing their nutritional values. Try using solar power for lighting your house with the help of tubular storage batteries. So no matter what the world leaders say, it truly is up to each and every one of us to make a difference in our own communities.
