Surprising Things You Can Recycle…

The planet we live on is quickly deteriorating and it is up to us to do our part to help. There are many things that you can do to help our environment. Recycling is just one of those activities you can take part in. But, what can you recycle? Some of the answers below are not usually thought of. Read on for more. Many of the items you use every day can be saved from the landfills by taking just a minute to recycle. Continue reading to learn how recycling saves energy and how you can go green and make the most of your recycling efforts. The first thing you need to do is check with your local area and find out about recycling where you live. Some places will pick up your recycling at your curb. They may ask for you to separate it, or you may not have to. Some areas will require you to bring in your recycling. Again, find out if it needs to be separated and how. No matter how your recycling materials are recycled, you need to find out just what you can turn in.   Glass is a material that can usually be recycled. Some areas do not recycle glass as it is so heavy and it takes too much gas and energy to recycle it. Many common items come in glass containers. As you finish these products, rinse out your glass bottle or jar and either reuse it or recycle it. Plastic can also be recycled. A lot more products are now coming in plastic. Many sauces you may eat come in plastic containers. Drinks come in plastic bottles. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and laundry detergent, as well as other items, all commonly come in plastic bottles.   Check on the bottom of your plastic containers to find out what level plastic it is. Some recycling places will ask that your plastics are separated by number and some will be fine with you sending them all in together. You can also recycle plastic grocery bags. Most stores that use these bags will recycle them. Metal can be recycled, too. If you drink anything out of cans, those can be recycled. Also, any cans you have gotten food out of can be recycled. The great thing about metal is you can generally be paid for it. Look for a scrap yard in your area. Scrap yards usually take metal products, including cans and anything else that is metal and will pay you a set price per pound or ton. Paper products are recyclable. Do you get junk mail? Do you read the newspaper or magazines? These items can be recycled. You can also recycle thicker paper products. Many food products or other items you buy come in paper packaging. Most of these paper packages have the ability to be recycled. Cardboard boxes can be recycled, too. Batteries and other electronics should be also recycled. Usually you will have to take these to a special place. Most of the time the big electronic stores will take these and recycle them. Did you know you can also recycle energy? That's right. The motors and appliances we use nowadays require more energy that that of homes in the 1950's. And with rising energy rates, it's now cost effective to do it. If you use a refrigerator, freezer, washer, dryer, and any appliances in your kitchen, recycling energy is a great thing to do. Not only for the environment, but also for you pocketbook. If you could have a month of free electricity every year, what would you spend that on? Whether it's a camping trip with the boys, or an extra gift to yourself or a loved one at Christmas, it's always nice to have a little extra right? To learn how to recycle energy in your home (and get your return on investment in less than a year, and have the next 25 years of $ put back in your wallet)... learn more here. Recycling is a great thing to do for the environment. How Does Power Factor Affect Your Power Bills?

How Does Power Factor Affect Your Power Bills?  Knowing what your power factor is on your property and how it affects your power bill is very important because it determines how well your property can efficiently use that electricity that your power provider is sending you.  Measuring your property’s power factor should be done by a licensed electrician or experienced property manager who specializes in power factor correction products. (If you would like to become one, visit our dealers page.  It's free to signup & get all the training!)  But, once you know what it is, you can determine whether this is an issue you need to improve upon or not. If you are responsible for running a large business operation that uses any kind of motors, this can have a huge impact on whether your business is really profitable or just barely skimping by.  Having an Energy Management Consultant who specializes in power factor correction can definitely help.

Does Power Factor Correction Make My Property More Energy Efficient?

Short Answer, Yes! Many large businesses across the nation have already invested in this technology and installed power factor correction devices in their facilities.  "How do I know if my power factor is low or high?" A property's power factor rating varies from property to property based on how efficient it is (as well as other factors). Firstly, it is important to understand that the power factor is the effectiveness of the equipment on your property to utilize the energy it is demanding. In the USA, residential properties aren't billed power factor penalties. However commercial properties are. If you know someone who owns a business of any size, you can help them no only wipeout any penalty they are currently paying, but also reduce their actual energy costs.  Residential homes simply benefit by lowering their energy cost. An old motor on a farm may have a power factor of .62 whereas a swimming pool pump motor may have a power factor of .87 The lower the number, the worse off you are. But I have great news! If you do have a low power factor number (or know someone who does), do not worry, we have a solution. In addition to paying for inefficient energy usage on your property, some power consumers have to pay a power factor penalty as well. This applies to large and commercial power consumers. So not only do you have to pay more for electricity to your equipment, you also are billed a penalty on top of this. The penalty represents the disparity between the amount of power you consume and the capacity provided by the power supplier to power the available machinery in your business. It is very important to calculate power factor in your company because at times your power company may miscalculate your power factor and hence overcharge you. Remember that if you are a business, your power factor will be used by the power company to do your billing. Therefore you have to be watchful to ensure that the calculation is done properly. Another reason why you should do your own power factor calculation is to ensure that you are not charged unrealistic surcharges over your kilowatt-hours. The problem with most companies is that they rely on their power suppliers to calculate power factor. This is risky because the company/business owner could potentially end up paying higher surcharges. It is like asking a wolf to watch over Red Riding Hood....someone’s gonna get eaten! YOU! Another important reason why it is always important to calculate power factor is because power factors that are above 90% cost very little and sometimes they are not charged. But factors that are below 70% come with additional costs and can lead to higher penalties. So for you to ensure that you do not get into trouble with your power company, it is important to have accurate calculations of your power factor. Many companies fail to calculate their power factors for fears of spending extra money. However, this is because they haven't taken time to consider the available options. The truth is that calculating power factor has become quite easy these days. The ongoing technological advancements have led to the development of highly effective and inexpensive calculators that make the whole exercise simple and accurate. We recommend the Extech Meter Model 380976 to take your readings. Get the best price available on Amazon here! The meter is extremely accurate and easy to use. On top of telling you the power factor, it will also give you the number of kilowatts, volts, and amps. The good thing is that this device is readily available on the internet and at a very reasonable cost. And an electrician can do this for you very easily. Are Energy Bills a HUGE Cost For You? This Can Help.

Attention Property Owners & Managers!

If you are in charge of maintaining operations on your property, you already know energy usage is a MAJOR expense. In fact, many businesses spend about 30% of their operational costs on energy expenses. No Matter whether you own a home or manage a large business operation, this post will help you see how you can reduce costs.

Attain Better Energy Efficiency for You!

By recouping energy losses into savings, companies can focus on their core business while the savings made in home residences could be used to improve homeowners lives world over. Whatever you decide to do with the extra money, you will agree with me, it is better to pay for cheap electricity rather than expensive wasted electricity you cannot benefit from! Motors are inefficient because when they run, they do not consume all the energy they demand from the power company. Because those motors are on your side of the power meter, your power company doesn’t do anything to help you. (They do use this technology on their system proving it does work!) The wasted energy does find its way to your electricity bill even though you have not used it. The motors that drive up this wasted energy include: the Central Air Conditioner, Pool pump, Heat pump, Ceiling fans, Refrigerators, Escalators, Elevators, among others. If you use any motor driven equipment or any of the things mentioned above, we can help your facility become more energy efficient and save you $$$. Electric Saver 1200 provides a USA manufactured product that has been designed specifically to provide a solution to this problem. The innovation makes your motors more energy efficient by recycling the lost energy and releasing it back to the motors whenever it is needed. In the process, the amount of heat required by the motors and connecting wires is significantly reduced. What this essentially does is reduce the kilowatts used up. By making your motors efficient and reducing the demand from your power company, you are billed less kilowatts and save money. Electric Saver 1200 also prevents power surges. Hence, saving you more money by protecting your equipment, expensive electronics & appliances. This energy saver not only reduces your power bills but also makes your motors and appliances last longer.   To provide sufficient and tailored support, there are different sizes of units available. The most common residential unit for homes in the USA is the ES1200 model. For Commercial and Industrial Applications, the size you need depends on the motor or service size of the electrical panel the commercial unit needs to be installed at, we have several different sized models available ES3100, ES3200, and ES3400.     Become more energy efficient and be your company's hero this year. By slashing your energy costs on motor driven equipment, you can make a big difference. Unhappy With Current Job Earnings? This may be an option for you…

Are you unhappy with how much money your current job earns?  If you are, this post is just for you.  Energy is one of the key factors that drive economies throughout the world. Energy is very expensive to produce and our current energy supply isn’t renewable. For this reason, it makes energy conservation very important as it helps everyone involved. And you can create an amazing business just by helping people conserve energy and live better.  In fact, many Energy Consultants earn more than General Contractors.  How?  Because they focus on helping people that will seriously benefit from slashing their power bills.  Companies that spend thousands of dollars on energy bills as part of their normal business operation costs. think-conserve-energy Energy conservation involves the right usage of energy while minimizing losses. Energy losses are attributed to the heat dissipated on the conductor carrying current or throughout the wiring on your property. But can you properly assess someone's property to ensure energy savings? The answer is yes, as long as you have the training. Read on to see how you can get that for free! Inductive loads such as motors which have coils wound in them, usually consume reactive power while as capacitors generate reactive power. When the demand of reactive power from the source is high, it's said that the power factor is poor. High reactive power demand from the source increases the amount of reactive power that flows along the line. Increase in current along the line leads to increase in the amount of heat that is dissipated along the conductor since the amount of heat dissipated is directly proportional to the square of current that flows along the line.

In order to reduce the amount of heat that is wasted it's necessary that the amount of current that flows along the line is reduced. This can be achieved through the use of our equipment. The Electric Saver 1200 employs the same technology as your power company and big business. It recycles the energy that otherwise would have been wasted and releases it back to the motor as needed. Power Factor Correction Calculation So Easy Your Kids Can Do It.

The study of power factor calculation is a major part of correcting an inefficient power system. Calculating the power factor for a given system or circuit is not very complex. The power factor is a value that varies between zero and one. But instead of doing all the calculations, is there a faster way to figure all this out? Continue reading to see the tool that completely eliminates the need for all the calculations.   The value of power factor is actually the ratio of the actual power used, and the apparent power of the system. The apparent power is actually the value produced by the multiplication of the current voltage and the rate or current flow in the circuit. The apparent power also indicates the amount of power that is not returned to the source. The system with power factor value one, is an ideal system. Each time when the required power is supplied to a circuit, a part of the supplied electricity is converted into heat while passing through the wires. Hence the lost electricity cannot be regained by any appliances (like motors) that are connected in the circuit. This process increases the amount of used energy and as well as the electricity bill. The power factor calculation essentially emphasizes this phenomenon. power factor correction equipment testing toolHowever, instead of using a math calculation and doing all the measurements, why not have a tool that will answer the problem for the equipment right on the spot? That's where our answer box comes in. Simply clamp it to the motor and measure the correction in real time. Not only does this remove the need for all the calculations, but you can also demonstrate to the customer on THEIR equipment, the reduction pfc systems can do.   This will help you sell the job much easier to the client when they see the drop in energy with their own eyes. If you are interested in obtaining the Answer Box, we have 2 different models. 1 is for single phase and 1 is for three phase. Simply sign up to be a distributor here, and then email me asking for the Answer Box video demonstration and pricing. It is only available to our distributors so be sure to sign up in the link above.   We proudly manufacture quality Made in USA, power factor correction equipment and a variety of other power saving & surge suppression products. The ES1200 equipment (and other sized models) actually stores and releases power when needed by the circuit. This function both reduces the heat produced by the wires and increases the power efficiency of the system. We have Single Phase and Three Phase Models in various sizes as well as custom built to your specs. One is more commonly used in residential properties and other one is for commercial use (businesses, factories, large motors, and motor driven equipment). This Thing Needs A Date! Give it The Attention It Deserves…

Happy Valentine's Day! I know, I know, if you don't have a date tonight, that's ok! Why?  Because something in your home ALSO needs a date- Your Power Bill.  When was the last time you gave it your full attention?  Do you even understand it? If you'd like help with understanding electricity bills, read this.  But, if you want to dive further into the rabbit hole and really put more of your hard earned dollars back in your wallet, read on, this post is for you. Electricity represents a large portion of operating costs no matter whether it's your home or a large business operation.  The largest things that account for over half of your bill is air conditioning/heating. Conservation is nothing new.  However achieving your goal of reducing energy consumption & increasing the thickness of your wallet is something more attainable than ever before ;-)  The below tips will help get you started...

4 Easy Ways to Conserve Energy & Slash Those Dang Power Bills!

1) Power saving light bulbs - one of the most common ways to conserve energy is using CFL or LED lighting. They last longer, omit the same amount of light, and are low on energy.   2) Insulation - is another incredible way of conserving energy consumption by reducing or increasing the perfect room temperature. By using this, you can keep your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer. This will also save you on electric fans and heaters. These techniques also include insulating your floors, roofs, and filling up small holes and cracks where the air can escape. With the blow in insulation and spray foam, there are many options that you can implement that don't require you to tear apart your ceilings or walls.   3) Window treatments - are not only for home decoration, but also for saving energy. They can reduce and increase heat loss and gain. Windows allow for natural light to pour in, but they also allow heat to come in. By using window treatments such as blinds, shutter, curtains or even window tint, you can dramatically change the temperature in a room that is always too hot. electric saver box 4) The Electric Saver 1200- This Energy Saving product is designed to lower your Electric Bill. Basically it makes the motors in your home more efficient and levels out power spikes that can easily become costly when you need to replace a large appliance or HVAC system. The Electric Saver increases the life span of your electric motors and appliances by helping them run more efficiently. It is easily attached and installed directly to an electric panel or directly to an electric motor in about 20 minutes. If you are sick and tired of rising energy bills and short lived appliances, get your today by clicking the link below... But, what are other ways to save energy in your home? Read on for even more great tips to slash those power bills in HALF! Save Energy Now   save-energy-handyman Common Mistakes With Energy Conservation Most people commit mistakes when it comes to energy conservation. Most do this unknowingly. Be sure to apply the proper techniques above, but don't then leave all your electric appliances & lighting on. This would mean that although you have just made a difference, you just changed your usage habits and lost all your gains. So if you do make improvements, be sure that you capture those losses by not changing your habits. Keep track of your energy usage from last year over this year (or last month over this month). Without knowing where you were, it is difficult to see if you are improving or not. Make sure you can compare what is really making an impact on your energy bills so that you can do something to handle the issue. Be sure to keep in mind the changes in weather. In Florida, it is very common for someone's power bill to go from $200 to $300 the very next month when the weather starts heating up. If you recently installed something that should be lowering your power bill and it goes up, be sure to consider the weather as a possible factor if you do see a higher bill. Some have installed power saving devices and then the next month, the power bill went from $2 Green city 00 to $250 so they immediately think the product didn't save them anything. However, upon further inspection, the bill would've been closer to $300 (if the power saving device hadn't been installed initially) so they actually saved $50 the first month. So be sure to think with the weather and have a start point to compare to. I recommend comparing year over year as the weather is usually pretty similar from last year's August to this year's August. Why is Reactive Power Important for Energy Efficiency?

Why is Reactive Power Important for Energy Efficiency & What is kVArh:

(definition) KVAR

Kilovolt-Ampere Reactive

Reactive Power (kVArh) is the difference between working power (active power measured in kW) and total power consumed (apparent power measured in kVA). Some electrical equipment requires an amount of 'reactive power' in addition to 'active power' in order to work more energy efficiently. KVAR is the number at the top of the mathematical problem. The higher the power factor your property has to the number 1, the more efficient the home is. For example, if your business has a .67 power factor rating, you are likely paying more than you have to for energy. But what about home owners? Are they billed for this too? The answer may surprise you. Electricity power bills are constantly rising on a day to day basis thus denting our pockets and wallets in these harsh economic times. Electrical energy has been one of the greatest discoveries of the century and life without electric power in unimaginable. From the use of the vacuum cleaner to clean the house in a matter of minutes to a spick and span standard to the washing machine that washes clothes at the touch of a button. Then there's that lovely dish washer that comes in handy after a heavy delicious meal. The list goes on and on. These are among the many electrical appliances that make our day to day living more comfortable. The sad bit of the above scenario is that they are all powered by electricity. Hence, the good life comes at a cost which continues to impede our comfortable lifestyle. The appliances normally run on 110 volts in the United States or 220-250 volts in other parts of the world. This AC (Alternating Current) Power source flows in a Sine wave to create both magnetic power as well as power itself. When not in use it loses some energy in form of reactive power measured in KVAR (Kilo Volt Ampere Reactive). The KVAR is the power factor that measures how efficient and effective an appliance or gadget is. The higher the power factor number measured in KVAR the more efficient and the lower the power factor (KVAR) the less effectiveness and efficiency. These power losses can be controlled and improved by adding power saving gadgets such as the Electric Saver 1200. The biggest culprits of this power reactive loss are the inductive power users i.e. Central Air Conditioning Systems, Heat Pumps, Swimming Pool motors, Refrigeration, fluorescent lighting, as well as motor in heavy machinery like Elevators, Escalators, and power tools.

And there are those reports of Power Factor not making a difference on residential homes at all. Are they true or false?

While it is true that homeowners are not billed power factor penalties or for apparent power, homeowners ARE billed for inefficient appliances and a/c systems that are still in use. Your power company has no way of knowing whether that refrigerator in your beautiful kitchen is from 1972 or 2017. The only way you are billed for your appliances and energy is by your USAGE. energy waste If your appliances and air conditioning system are not running as efficiently as possible, you might as well go out to your back yard and light a couple hundred dollar bills on fire every few months. Because that's what you are giving to your power company by not taking action and making your home or business as energy efficient as possible. If you are ready to just say no to burning $100 bills every few months, click the link below:   Buy KVAR Now Why Else Should I Use A KVAR device?
  • Safeguarding and regulating power surges and spikes during black outs and brown outs. This cost cutting measure protects electrical equipment from getting damaged, deters any fire calamity that might destroy your property or even the loss of life.
  • Efficiency and effectiveness of electrical appliances is improved by less overheating and running cooler, this ensures that they will last longer and give optimal service.
  • Reduced Kilowatt Consumption on the Overall Property, thus saving you from overbilling from energy you weren't able to use.
  • Power Factor Penalty Removed from Energy Bills (for those commercial customers that are billed a penalty)

Why is improving the overall power factor on my property a good idea?

Because now your property is ONLY billed for energy it actually uses and not 1 penny more to the power company! To find out more visit our website today!
